An early morning scenic drive from Kathmandu (approx. 7-8 hours). The journey itself is an adventure, following the Trishuli and Marsyangdi rivers with stunning valley views. The final ascent from Pokhara to Ghandruk is a dramatic climb on a winding mountain road.
After a glorious sunrise view of Annapurna South and Machapuchare (Fishtail) from your lodge, we begin our trek. The trail winds through pristine rhododendron forests
This is a longer day of trekking through diverse landscapes. You'll pass through charming villages like Deurali and descend into valleys before the final climb to Ghorepani.

FAQs
This trek is graded Easy to Moderate. It is perfect for beginners, families with children, and anyone with a reasonable level of fitness. There are steep sections (especially the stone steps to Poon Hill), but the daily walking hours are manageable (4-6 hours). The highest altitude (3,210m at Poon Hill) is low enough to minimize the risk of altitude sickness.
- Spring (March to May): Best for rhododendron flowers in full bloom and clear skies.
- Autumn (September to November): Offers the clearest mountain views and stable weather.
- Winter (December to February): Days are clear and sunny, but nights can be very cold. Still very manageable.
- Monsoon (June to August) is less recommended due to rain, leeches, and potential clouded views.
- Clothing: Moisture-wicking base layers, insulating fleece/down jacket, waterproof/windproof shell, trekking pants.
- Footwear: Well-broken-in hiking boots and comfortable camp/sleeping shoes.
- Accessories: Sunglasses, hat, beanie, gloves, headlamp, sunscreen, water purification tablets/bottle.
- Gear: A good quality backpack (30-40L) and a daypack. A sleeping bag is recommended for colder months (though lodges provide blankets).
